This is the second time I've seen this film. I didn't like it the first time. I just didn't enjoy it at all! Now that I am watching it a second time and with an eye towards rating it I can see that the film is good. The imagery that is reinforcing the idea that everything is being wiped away, the scene in the book store brilliantly so, the way the story is told as well. The audio didn't really stick with me however, I can't recall much of it to be honest!

The Bridge on the River Kwai is a film I somewhat recall from my childhood. My father loved watching old war movies and this one always seemed to be playing in the background. I only ever recalled the ending of it, to a young kid that is the most exciting part! I don't think I was ever able to sit through the film for it's entirety, the themes and pacing was just too much for my young mind to comprehend. I can appreciate it now however.
I must confess that Amadeus is one of my favorite films. I have seen it dozens of times and I never seem to tire of it. From the opening scene of Saliari trying to take his own life to us watching his personality sour and turn bitter through his jealousy and envy for Mozart's gifts, I find myself enraptured. This story isn't completely historical. As I understand it Saliari and Mozart did know each other but they did not have the acrimonious relationship that is portrayed in this film. It makes for a great story however!
Here we are with number 89, the controversial, love it or hate it masterpiece from Stanley Kubrick, 2001.
I hadn't seen the film in so long that I really didn't recall enough to know what to expect. What I got was 3 separate films told with very few words and way too much classical music. I think I get what he was trying to do.I seriously do. We were to watch the great moments in human evolution, triggered by the monolith, where ever that came from.
Clocking in at #99 is the classic, to the point of becoming a cliche it's self, confidence film, The Sting.
I went into this film expecting a pretty good time. The movie is eminently quotable, even to this day I can't ask someone for their ticket and not think of the scene where Harrison Ford punches the Nazi out of the Zeppelin saying "No Ticket!".
Taking a cue from a forum that I frequent, along with a need to do something to get my friends together on a weekly basis, I decided to host a weekly get together to watch the top 100 movies as ranked by the IMDB Top 100 list.
To gauge how much we as a group like the films, and whether or not we think they should even be on that list we are scoring the films after we have watched them. It is a scale of 1 through 10 where 5 is, and really should be, an average film.
Because the list changed so much week to week, we took a snapshot of the list on 7/28/2012.
