A Puppet

By zehaeva, 10 September, 2003

a puppet
wooden joints and strings attached
moved and danced accross miniature
stages and props
pulled and jerked
made to move to rythems
not of its own devising
forced to repeat
forced to repeat
forced to repeat
this play of errors and
sonnetts full of saddness
of
Romeo`s who fall for Juilet`s
who dont love roses
by any name
and
cassandra`s who scream
and screams
and screams
but no one listens

a puppet
made to recite the words
made to live the words
forced to repeat
forced to repeat
forced to repeat
lovers quarells
and silioquies
sword fights
and suicides
pulled by entangled strings
that puppets can not see

they are
forced to repeat
forced to repeat
forced to relive
all those tears that
betrayal can bring
founts pouring forth
sea salt
and copper tasting
blood
overflowing
enough to drown
a puppet
